Our Classrooms

  • When caring for our Infants, we provide a nurturing environment that fosters critical early development. We incorporate a combination of creative play time and one-on-one activity to develop motor skills. A consistent nap and feeding schedule is also implemented to build routine.

  • At a time when they are speaking their first words and making their first friends, our Young Toddlers program helps each child develop socially and build self-confidence. We encourage curiosity and believe that children in this age group learn best through guided experiences.

  • As they make new discoveries and begin to exert their independence, our Toddlers are exposed to a new world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach includes a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as critical learning skills to prepare them for preschool.

  • Our Preschool program enhances confidence and provides a varied curriculum to help each child become a problem solver and lifelong learner. At this age we teach early literacy, math, science, and social studies, with a healthy dose of active play time to keep them healthy and engaged.

Our Story

The BERTHA Academy is named in honor of Bertha Gutierrez, whose lifelong dedication to hard work and education inspires us daily. After immigrating to the United States during the Great Depression, Bertha persevered to build a better future while valuing education as the foundation for success. Along with her husband, an entrepreneur named Jose, she encouraged her five children to become well-rounded, pushing them to succeed in school, sports, and music. Years later, her hard work paid off as she watched them graduate from college, start their businesses, and raise their families. Bertha was a loving mother who dared to dream of a better life for her family, and every success we enjoy is because of the values and perseverance she taught us. These are the exact lessons we seek to instill daily as we continue her legacy of education.
